Overview
Note: This course qualifies for New York State ethics credit and also counts toward the accounting concentration CPE requirement.
Ethical decision-making is fundamental to the accounting profession, and New York CPAs must meet both professional and state-specific ethics requirements to remain compliant. This course provides a focused ethics CPE program for New York CPAs (accounting concentration), addressing core ethical principles alongside regulatory expectations unique to New York practice. It is designed to satisfy New York State ethics CPE requirements in accordance with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations and applicable provisions of Part 70 of the Commissioner’s Regulations. Participants will learn how to:
- Apply ethical principles and professional standards to accounting and tax-related practice
- Recognize compliance risks associated with independence, data hosting, and fiduciary responsibility
- Understand how New York’s special CPE requirements shape ethical accountability for CPAs
