Overview
Note: This course focuses exclusively on New Jersey-specific ethics requirements and does not rely on generic AICPA ethics standards except where expressly adopted by the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy.
Ethical compliance is a core responsibility for CPAs practicing in New Jersey, where professional conduct is governed by state-specific laws, regulations, and enforcement standards. This course provides a focused and practical New Jersey ethics CPE program designed to help CPAs understand and apply the ethical requirements established by the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy.
Through an overview of the New Jersey Accountancy Act, Uniform Enforcement Act, and related regulations issued by the Division of Consumer Affairs, participants gain a clear understanding of how ethical standards are defined, monitored, and enforced at the state level. The course emphasizes real-world application, helping CPAs navigate ethical challenges related to independence, integrity, confidentiality, and professional responsibility.
This program satisfies New Jersey ethics CPE requirements and supports CPAs in maintaining compliance while upholding the standards expected of the profession. Participants will learn how to:
- Interpret and apply New Jersey–specific ethics rules and professional conduct standards
- Recognize actions that may lead to disciplinary review or enforcement
- Align daily professional judgment with regulatory expectations for CPAs and firms
